All in all, this is the most trustworthy platform for independent fashion creators out there.

Having worked in various showrooms and even running my own pop-up in Nolita, I can say with confidence that Flying Solo is a solid organization. I've been a customer for nearly three years, and I’m more than happy to suggest them to any independent designer. That said, they might not be the right fit for everyone, so here are some pros and cons of joining them:

1. The stores at Flying Solo offer a fantastic chance for independent designers to test the waters without the hefty costs of renting a storefront and hiring staff. They even host in-store events like collection launches, sales, and meet-and-greets with designers. Both locations are in the upscale shopping area of Soho in NYC, which can be a real wallet-buster if you want your own place. On the flip side, I’ve found the stock capacity to be a bit limiting. I create over 50 SKUs each season for my brand, but Flying Solo only allows 15 clothing items on display and 30 in stock, and they’re pretty strict about it. I wouldn’t suggest Flying Solo for designers whose pieces are priced under $100, as their customers usually lean towards mid-range to high-end products.

2. When it comes to PR, Flying Solo boasts a huge network of stylists that’s way more extensive than most showrooms. I saw how busy they were when I dropped off my samples. I strongly recommend letting them pick pieces for PR, as my initial selection didn’t do as well as the items they chose from my collection. My designs have been featured in Elle, Harper's, several issues of L'Officiel, and Vanity Fair, among others.

3. The team at Flying Solo is super friendly and goes out of their way to make sure clients are happy with the service they receive.

4. I also really enjoy the monthly designer parties that Flying Solo throws. While they’re mostly for fun, these gatherings are a great way to meet stylists and influencers, which can be a big boost for business if you play your cards right. I’ve made some fantastic connections through these events.

I had a fantastic experience! Elizabeth, Bayr, Jaqueline, Alina, Ana, and the whole crew are just wonderful to collaborate with. They really put in the effort and put on amazing shows! When the date for one of the performances shifted, FS promptly refunded the extra I spent on my hotel. I truly appreciated that!

I had a fantastic time teaming up with Flying Solo Beauty Boutique! My business, Starlet Glam Bath & Body, was over the moon when one of my body creams made it into the April 2022 edition of Weekly Style Magazine. Sadly, my finances just couldn’t keep up, so I had to end my contract.

To start, if you’re anything like me, you might be drawn to Flying Solo because of the celebs and buzzwords like PR and press pulls. But honestly, it’s all a scam.

Moevir and L’Officiel are just magazines you can pay to get into.

I ended up losing over $200 worth of inventory because they didn’t have the ‘broken in transit’ items ready for pickup and inspection. They have staff members calling, acting like stylists wanting to collaborate, only to pitch you $800 packages for photos.

And then? They inflate the sales figures, which seems necessary since they profit off our desperation rather than actual sales.

Their business model rakes in cash through designers, so they don’t need to buy stock or merchandise. Instead, they have folks paying to be in their store, all based on some really convincing and believable lies.

I was super let down because I put my trust in them, but after that call with the “staff member,” I did some research and found others who had been duped too.

Just steer clear of them, pay the magazines to feature you directly, and save yourself the $600-$1500 membership fee because it’s just not worth it.

What a platform, what a crew, what a community! I’ve been with Flying Solo since I kicked off my brand back in 2019, and it’s been a wild ride. From the events to the retail side and the amazing Copper Room (the PR arm), Flying Solo has consistently backed my journey and has always given back way more than I’ve put in. Big shoutout to Elizabeth, Bayr, Stasi, and all the other pals who feel like family, keeping this incredible vision alive and adapting to every stage and requirement of a growing independent brand. I can’t recommend them enough; amidst all the chaos out there, nobody matches the Flying Solo experience.

I’m a huge fan of FLying Solo. Whether it’s the showroom, the shop, or the folks who operate it, I’ve been a loyal customer for years. Their selection of fresh, cool designers is just fantastic, and I’ve even modeled their outfits for shoots and NYFW. It’s absolutely amazing to witness the variety of cultures showcased in their events and stores. I really enjoy picking pieces from them, appreciate the organization of everything, and admire how they bring it all together.

I want to talk about my time with Flying Solo. I run Georgina Jewelry, and my brand has been showcased at the store and PR Room since 2018. Over these years, we’ve taken part in 7 shows at NYFW and 3 at Paris Fashion Week, and let me tell you, the vibe was fantastic, and the organization was top-notch! The store attracts wonderful customers and has an excellent mix of brands. It’s an incredible fashion hub right in the heart of Broadway, New York City.

The team is just awesome, providing stellar customer service. They really back us up and help our brand flourish. The Cooper Room PR has been a game changer for us; we’ve been featured in amazing magazines and have walked the red carpet at major events in the USA, with celebrities donning our jewelry.

Plus, fashion brands and designers get a rare chance to showcase their creations in New York and get featured in leading magazines! The press turnout at their events is impressive, and those shows are always a sight to behold! Truly the cream of the crop. I highly recommend them.

Like always, the Miami Swim event by Flying Solo was a total success. Everyone involved, from the models to the crew, was a blast to collaborate with! Flying Solo really knows how to put on a fantastic show - they’re super organized and just a joy to work alongside. I’m definitely gonna keep participating in fashion weeks with Flying Solo.
